I am Rebecca Frazier, an anxious, ADHD and excited person. These traits give me different and creative perspectives that can be valuable as well as awesome. When I heard about the Communications Specialist opening from Ericka, I got so excited I immediately started planning what I wanted to say:
Right now in my life, I’m trying to stay content with what I have and what I am capable of doing. I have a loving boyfriend, Dalton. That I would do anything for, I have my cat that loves me even when she is biting me and I have myself who makes sure to take time and think. We have been through some scary stuff together and get stronger every day. I just graduated in August from Texas State University with a B.S. major in Digital Media Innovations and a minor in Pop Culture. There we were taught every facet of social media and getting the attention of an audience. In addition, I understand communications standards, graphics design, media law and much more.
Austin Creative Reuse (ACR) holds a special place in my heart for several reasons. It let me experience being a part of a community that is safe and like-minded. One of my old co-workers, Ericka, has found their place at ACR and I hope to do the same . The ACR community is so positive, something I have been looking for for a long time. Another positive thing about ACR and ADHD if you want to start a new project you don’t have to go to the big box store. Or feel guilty for being wasteful of the environment and money. You can end up burned out or stop doing the project its okay. You can pick up a new hobby and go back later if you want to.
I can go above and beyond in this position. I have a creative drive and the toolbox to get things done effectively but I also have the same passion behind the mission ACR is chasing. As the Communications Specialist, I could thrive, bring the community together to kick buns and show off that reusing materials can alter usage, story and the community.
I am thrilled to talk to y’all and hopfully soon,
